‘Formed in 1980 to maintain interest in the period 1914-1918, to perpetuate the memory, courage and comradeship of those on all sides who served their countries in France and Flanders and their own countries during the Great War. It does not seek to glorify war and is non-political ... The Association supports a broad range of local WFA Branches in the United Kingdom, in other European countries, in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere. Many of our Branches produce their local newsletters; many arrange tours to the battlefields at reasonable prices, and all welcome new members warmly.’

‘We meet ... on the first Wednesday of every month with the exception of January and August. Doors open at 7.00pm for a prompt 7.30pm start. Meetings are open to the general public, WFA membership is not essential. We welcome a small voluntary donation, payable at the door to help pay towards the running of the branch.’

‘The Cheltenham & Gloucester Branch is very active with regular attendance of over 40 people at our monthly meeting meetings. We meet every second Tuesday of the month ... with speakers organised from all over the country. We have film and documentary showings and organised trips both in this country and to the Western Front. All are welcome to attend our meetings.’
