'The Association is a thriving community of over 700 beekeepers ... Its purpose is to promote good beekeeping. This involves crop pollination and the collection, sale, showing and use of honey and wax. We provide instructions and demonstrations in these subjects, leading to an understanding of these fascinating insects and how to keep them healthy. There are facilities for courses in beekeeping and nationally recognized examinations can be taken. There are also branch libraries with beekeeping books ... Regular indoor meetings are held at Kesgrave, Barsham and Bury St Edmunds with practical apiary meetings, social gatherings and events at other locations in the county during the year. Attendance at these events is open to non-members.'
'Suffolk Book League was founded in 1982 and has introduced a varied programme of novelists, historians, poets, journalists, biographers, MPs and social commentators to speak in Suffolk ... The SBL is a registered charity, the aim of which is to promote, encourage, foster or strengthen by all and every suitable means the habit of reading and the wider and more general distribution of books, by and among all people.'
'Formed in 1993 to provide an opportunity for anyone with an interest in historic buildings, to develop and share their knowledge with like-minded individuals ... Evening meetings featuring guest lecturers are held in the autumn and winter months. We hold an annual social event with an eminent speaker at Christmas ... Evening Meetings at Haughley Barn are free to SHBG members: there is a charge of for non-members. Prior booking is not required.'

'The Suffolk Preservation Society (SPS) is the only countywide amenity society dedicated to protecting and promoting the special historic and landscape qualities of Suffolk ... We fight through the planning system to protect our built and natural heritage and to see that new development is sustainable, proportionate, well designed and respectful to Suffolk’s vernacular ... We encourage debate and interest in the subject of sustainable development that does not set the county in aspic but keeps Suffolk both growing AND beautiful.'
'The Forum was founded in 2008 by representatives of several Christian denominations and the Suffolk Inter-Faith Resource (SIFRE). It is supported by Churches Together in Suffolk. It meets five times a year in or near Ipswich. The Forum welcomes all who are interested in exploring Christian theological issues in an open non-partisan way.'
