Member of the Amphibian and Reptile Groups of the UK Grouping

'The Society exists to promote the study of archaeology, natural history, local history and historic buildings with particular reference to the historic County of Somerset, and is an important point of contact for anyone with an interest in understanding and protecting the heritage of Somerset.'

'We provide training, promote best practice and offer advice, support and education to beekeepers and the public. Over the years our members have made – and continue to make - an impressive contribution to British beekeeping at both national and county level ... The Somerset Beekeepers Association is divided into twelve divisions, each corresponding to a different area of the county. Members can join any division, and also be members of more than one division. Members also don't have to live in Somerset, for example some members are from neighbouring counties such as Dorset or Devon ... The SBKA and each division organise lectures, usually in the "off-season" (i.e. autumn and winter, and into early spring) for beekeeping. Most divisional lectures are open to members of other divisions, and if in doubt just ask! Lectures are a great way to learn more about beekeeping and bees, and to help get you ready and excited for the next season.'

'Formed in 1984 with a view to promoting friendly gardening interests among Clubs and Societies throughout Somerset, and to provide advice and practical help with the day to day running of club affairs. Since then our membership has grown to include over 240 clubs in Somerset and adjacent counties. The Federation is dedicated to supporting those who are enthusiastic about all aspects of horticulture.'

'The Somerset Gardens Trust was formed in 1990, one of a growing number of County Trusts affiliated to the overall national body, The Gardens Trust. It is a voluntary organisation and educational charity working with garden owners, local authorities and the community in order to protect and care for the county’s parks and gardens. It is financed through members’ subscriptions, donations, legacies, grants and fund raising events.'
