'Formed in 1983 with the aim of securing the long-term future of the Slough to Windsor branch line. Fortunately, British Rail did not close the line and the SWRS has moved on to other things. Today, the Slough & Windsor Railway Society seeks to preserve and study the railway history of Slough, Windsor and the surrounding areas, and provides a haven for local railway enthusiasts to socialise and reminisce ... Every Friday evening, members meet ... for an illustrated talk, usually on the subject of railways.'

'Supports beekeepers and those interested in bees in the Thames Valley area. We are an active society with about 100 members who come from all over the world and from all walks of life. Some of us are complete beginners while others have a wealth of experience, but we all share a passion for maintaining healthy bees and producing high quality honey ... We have an active programme of meetings throughout the year for Society Members.'
