'The British Society of Dowsers is the UK’s national organisation for dowsers and dowsing. Formed in 1933, it is the second-oldest dowsing society in the world. The BSD exists to encourage the study and knowledge of dowsing in all its forms amongst members and the public. Membership of the Society is open to anyone interested in dowsing, regardless of ability. Dowsing can be used in health and well-being, home and garden, for water divining, archaeological searches, earth mysteries including energy lines and much, much more. It’s a great tool for enhancing your intuition and decision-making abilities ... Affiliated Local Groups are separate and independent of The British Society of Dowsers. Some groups specialise in certain areas of dowsing, others are general interest. Each group is run by volunteers who set their own programmes.'

The Area Groups of the FR Society have performed vital roles for the railway since the earliest days of preservation. They coordinate transport to the railway, organise volunteer working parties, promote the FR in their region and raise vital funds. Many of them also organise meetings for local members and FR supporters to get their "Ffestiniog fix" when not able to get to North Wales.'
