‘Whitehall, built around 1500, is a historic timber framed Tudor house museum situated in a conservation area, amidst delightful weather-boarded cottages in Cheam Village, it is a shining example of a joint community project, for whilst the building is owned, maintained and managed by the London Borough of Sutton, through the Museum and Heritage Division, it opens to the public with the help of The Friends of Whitehall, a voluntary organisation.’
