Open Lectures & Talks'Lectures are held ... on the second Thursday of each month from October to June, starting at 10.45 am ... The current membership number is 275 and a waiting list always seems to exist, usually with a wait of 1-2 years for new applicants. Members transferring from other societies are welcomed, but we do not encourage multiple membership. Applicants on the waiting list may attend up to four lectures per session whilst awaiting a substantive place. Visitors/guests and those on the waiting list are welcomed to our lecture meetings at an attendance fee of £5. Potential visitors or their sponsors should contact ... beforehand as there is a restriction on the number attending each lecture.'
