'We produce internationally excellent and world-leading research on a diverse range of contemporary issues and historic figures, movements and ideas. We have scholars working across religious studies, historical and systematic theology, biblical studies, and contextual and practical theology and theological ethics. At Chester, we are passionate about sharing our discoveries and about contributing our expertise to public debates. We ensure that the research we do informs the courses we design and deliver so that our students get to benefit from our interests.'
'Exists to support the oldest independent railway in the world (being founded by an Act of Parliament in 1832) – now a historic and world-class tourist attraction ... The Area Groups of the FR Society have performed vital roles for the railway since the earliest days of preservation. They coordinate transport to the railway, organise volunteer working parties, promote the FR in their region and raise vital funds. Many of them also organise meetings for local members and FR supporters to get their "Ffestiniog fix" when not able to get to North Wales.'

'Founded in 1979 by a group of quilting enthusiasts and has grown from a founding membership of 300 to over 6,500 individual members today ... Each of our regions provide a programme of talks and events and every year at least two or three regions organise exhibitions and retreats. The five special interest groups cater for special interests with challenges, meetings, retreats and summer schools.'

'The Society of Thirteen was formed in 1963 when a group of thirteen people met to form a new Society that would organise lectures and events of interest for the benefit of the people of Chester. Each year the Society presents a series of lectures on a wide range of subjects, given by local and national experts. From time to time, excursions are arranged to places or events of interest.'
