Local Society: Andover

'We are a small society that caters for anyone with an interest in astronomy. We have members of all ages with a range of experience levels from complete beginners to experienced observers. The society has regular meetings that run from September to April each year. We have a varied program to try and cater for everyone and have something for all levels of experience. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.'

LECTURES and TALKS2021-22 Programme

Our Society was formed in 1991 by the union of two much older societies - Andover Archaeology Society founded in 1965 and Andover Local History Society founded in 1979. We continue the traditions of those societies, promoting an interest in local history and working to preserve and protect features and items of historic and archaeological interest ... Our annual Dacre Lecture is a public event and is given by an archaeologist or historian of national standing.'

'Hampshire Beekeepers’ Association dates back to 1882. It unites 15 Local Associations within the County by organising Conventions and Honey Shows as well as promoting training through the Region ... All Associations are happy for non-members to attend a meeting occasionally but please check with the Secretary, or a member of the committee, that it is convenient for you to attend.'

'Promoting and encouraging the study of family history research since our formation in 1974. Our aim is to help you trace your family’s Hampshire roots ... We meet regularly to discuss the opportunity to share, learn, exchange ideas and information, as well as to help us each further explore our family history projects ... Across the County we have 13 groups that meet monthly offering lectures, visits and discussions.'
