'A series of talks is held at Cardiff University on alternate Thursday evenings from September through to July, from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Attendances at the fortnightly talks are usually in excess of 70 and on some occasions during the year will reach 80 to 100. The talks programme is varied and comprises informal lectures, visual presentations and short talks. The aim is to cater for all interests, at whatever level, beginner or advanced. The Society is able to attract the very best speakers from all over the UK and beyond.'

Annual Public Lecture: 'Visitors will be granted special access to the library for the lecture; there will be a drinks reception in the e-lounge next to the Reading Room from 4.15 pm ... This Centre promotes and supports the study of late antique religion and culture from the late Hellenistic Period to the early Middle Ages, also in relation to earlier and later periods, in particular Classical Antiquity and the modern world.'

'The public lecture series is organised to aid the MA/Diploma students in "Islam in Contemporary Britain" in their studies, but to also allow a chance for academics and students from other schools, and the general public, to attend and gain a better understanding on the various and dynamic aspects related to the study of Islam in the UK ... 'We envisage the Centre as an accessible, vibrant, and inclusive hub of learning about Islam in Cardiff and South Wales, for Muslims and non-Muslims alike. The Centre has strong links with the local Muslim community, and we are proud of this partnership.'
