'The Museum uncovers many of the stories relating to the fascinating history of Cheshire as well as exploring the workhouse history of this imposing Victorian building, which was the home to Victorian Paupers. Until May 2010, the museum was known as the Salt Museum. There has been a museum on this site since 1981. Previously the museum was located in Northwich Library in the town centre. The first Salt Museum opened its doors in 1885 ... The Friends organise regular events at the Museum and outside venues.'
