'Formed in 2007 and covers the present County of Lancashire and parts of Greater Manchester and Merseyside ... Whilst most of our activity is currently focused on the post-1974 county, in the future we hope to develop research projects in those parts of ‘historic’ Lancashire that now lie in Greater Manchester and Merseyside ... Every year we organise a series of events, usually from February until November that combine enjoyable site visits with background information researched by a member or during a guided tour by either the gardener or the owner, as to why that particular garden or landscape is important.'
