'We protect Essex's precious green spaces - past and present - by identifying and recording their details, and making that information available; and we influence Essex's future green spaces for the well-being of everyone, by using our knowledge to provide informed comment on relevant plans for development ... We organise events, including garden visits, talks, social gatherings and courses. Many of these are at Writtle University College with which we have close ties.'
