This phenomena came about in the 1920s and 30s fired by new discoveries in materials and techniques, and by the need for social change. It is a Movement that defines the 20th and 21st centuries as it left historicism behind and created a new identity. We live in an age of discovery and progress; Docomomo seeks to highlight and protect these achievements.'
