The name Accordia is a construct, and was conceived as an acronym - Academic Co-ordination Centre [for the] Organisation [of] Research [into the] Development [of] Italy [from] Antiquity ... The annual series of The Italy Lectures have become an established fixture in the diaries of all those interested in ancient Italy. They are widely appreciated for the diverse range of topics covered, the high standard of the lectures and the convivial post-lecture receptions.'
