'In 2012 Warwickshire County Council decided to close Dunchurch Library as part of county-wide budget cuts. Dunchurch Parish Council held a number of public meetings where it was obvious that the community wanted to keep their library open. In April 2012 the Parish Council took over the library and became the controlling authority. The library is now open four days a week, as it was when run by WCC, and is proving to be a real centre for the community.

'The library is wholly operated by volunteers, so continually needs to recruit volunteers and to fundraise to meet some of the costs of the library.'
