'Our free pre-concert talks offer a fascinating insight into the music you are about to experience. Each talk lasts approximately half an hour and admission is free. It's your chance to listen to guest speakers, to discover more about composers, music and musicians. It provides further knowledge to enrich your enjoyment of a familiar piece. Or, if you are new to it, an introduction to the many textures, colours and moods to be enjoyed from orchestral music. Join us in the magnificent setting of Symphony Hall and let us set the scene for the music.'

'Our aim is to provide 45 minutes of lively discussion, debate and an insight into ENO's productions plus musical excerpts and we invite you, the audience, to participate through conversation and the opportunity to put questions to our panel of experts. 'Occasionally we are able to present pre-concert talks at the Barbican before LSO concerts, which give an insight into the music and artists, and often a glimpse behind the scenes at how a composer works or how a soloist maintains their busy schedule. Pre-concert talks are usually free and take place in the Barbican Hall or Fountain Room on the Foyer an hour before the concert.'

All Forthcoming Platforms 'An eclectic programme of pre-performance events celebrates all aspects of the arts, offering the chance to learn about the National's work and discover more about theatre in general. Platforms usually start at 6 pm, lasting for 45 minutes - there are occasional afternoon events, usually starting at 3 pm.'

'A Post Show Talk is an event after the performance where members of the audience get to ask questions of the cast and creative team of the show. You can join in the discussion or just sit and listen to find out more about what happens backstage, the rehearsal process and the history of the production.'
'Offering insights into the Orchestra and its performers and repertoire, Pre-concert Talks are available at many venues across the country, giving audiences the chance to meet conductors, soloists and Philharmonia Orchestra musicians, or to explore the music with expert speakers. Pre-Concert talks are free to attend, although in certain venues you may need a ticket for the main evening concert.'
