Annual Women in the History of Philosophy Lecture 'Women make up only a minority of philosophers, and an even smaller minority of philosophers in the history of the profession. Indeed, it can be easy to get the impression that women's contributions to philosophy are only a very recent phenomenon. But this is not true. The Sheffield Philosophy Department has decided that it wants to increase awareness of the work of women throughout the history of philosophy, and so is now sponsoring an annual lecture on Women in the History of Philosophy.' Also other events which can be open to the public.
