Evening Pub Talks organized by the Friends of the Newport Ship: 'All talks take place in the skittles alley in the basement of St Julian’s Inn ... They start promptly at 7.30 pm, so please arrive in good time before that. Sandwiches and crisps will be available after the talk. Admission is free, though we ask for a donation towards the cost of the sandwiches.'
'The Ocean Liner Society hosts a talk in Central London on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 pm ... The talks are FREE. However we have a collection to assist with expenses. After the meeting, regulars adjourn to the award-winning Jerusalem Tavern in Britton Street, about 100 metres north of the venue. Take a later train home and join us!'
'The diversity of the interests and research areas of our society members are reflected in the talks and conferences we hold. This site will publicise such events, not just to existing members, but to a wider audience. Additionally, users will be informed of upcoming conferences and seasonal visits to places of nautical/maritime interest.'

'We hold a number of meetings each year at different venues throughout the Region, enabling our members and friends to visit many places of maritime interest, from museums, galleries and nautical colleges to ship-yards, naval establishments and fishing ports. Talks and seminars cover a wide range of topics, covering the whole maritime spectrum, and members enjoy a regular opportunity to meet and exchange views on their current work and interests with like minded friends.'
