'We meet on the fourth Thursday of each month (except for July, August and December). Coffee is served from 10.20 am and is followed by the lecture that finishes at mid-day. Each year we have one evening lecture at which dinner is served ... Our present membership is 300 and there is currently a waiting list. Guests and those prospective members on the waiting list are welcome at our meetings. The charge is £5 each per meeting. Non-members are also welcome at Special Interest Days and on outings when places are available. However, due to high demand it has been necessary to restrict guests’ and prospective members’ attendance to three society events per year.'
